Touring El Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico 2

Touring el Viejo San Juan 2 & Caro Rose
The stories about Peurto Rico on this blog are not meant to offend anyone. They are simply just memories made by a college student who was invited to spend some time within the family. We recognize that the Island of Puerto Rico was never left the same after it met Hurricane Maria and the memories made before the incident are only meant to keep its culture and spirit alive in this time of tragedy as we wait for the world to heal. We all want to reminisce about our travel experiences and hopefully spending some time remembering will liven our spirits to see better days abroad ahead.

In the Spring break of about 2016, The artist Rose was invited to visit her aunt in Puerto Rico. During this vacation, they explored el Viejo San Juan. TAt the same time, she took the picture seen in Touring el Viejo San Juan 1 while they hunted to find the address of theirfamily friend’s residence back home in Florida. As they passed by the winding streets, Rose enjoyed taking pictures of the pavements that seemingly disappeared into nowhere. She was also impressed by the unique colors of the buildings that lined the streets.

One of the most challenging parts of this painting was using all the leftover red that she had on her palette from Touring el Viejo San Juan 1. So she used as much red as she could to mix with blue and white paints that helped her make the purple shades for the building street and sidewalk. However, the most rewarding part of the painting was making these wonderful memories with her family.

If you have any fun anecdotes to share about your time in Puerto Rico leave your stories in the comments. You can also contact the artist via email and social media in the banner above. If you also appreciate tropical landscape art like this she hopes you will enjoy purchasing some prints for you or a loved one’s place to make your house feel more home-y.

The photo was originally taken with a professional camera. This image is Rose's first rendition of Touring el Viejo San Juan 2, painted in Marion County, Florida, painter. The materials she used are Master’s touch acrylic paints Fine Touch Brush Set and white, acid-free, acrylic gesso primed canvas. The print materials will be announced.
