Painting in progress: Making an impromptu tropical landscape artwork

Here we have Caro Rose, artist, painting a tropical landscape art in progress, Touring el Viejo San Juan 2 for the audience. She says one of the most fun parts of creating the painting is using the leftover amounts of acrylic paints on her palette.
"I had a lot of leftover red on my palette," says Rose. "I thought I should make something else to not waste anything!"
So she gathered the rest of the red and blues on her palette from painting Touring el Viejo San Juan 1 to try to match the colors as best as she could. It was a challenging feat without a doubt because she didn't know where to begin with all the red she had left. She felt that she made a lot of mistakes along the way. She says she is not too happy with the outcome of the clouds as she used red to accidentally mix in the puffy apparitions. She scrambled to see what she could do go fix the dilemma but ended up staying with the purply theme to her content.

One of the most memorable parts of making this painting is traveling throughout the historical district and passing the colorful buildings with her aunt.
"Each address is not alike," Rose says. "As one passes one neighborhood, the next neighborhood will surprise your senses with a whole new pop of colors. Passing each street will reflect the festive spirit that runs through the island."
