Tourists at el Morro, Puerto Rico landscape art

Tourists at El Morro & Caro Rose
The stories about Peurto Rico on this blog are not meant to offend anyone. They are simply just memories made by a college student who was invited to spend some time within the family. We recognize that the Island of Puerto Rico was never left the same after it met Hurricane Maria and the memories made before the incident are only meant to keep its culture and spirit alive in this time of tragedy as we wait for the world to heal. We all want to reminisce about our travel experiences and hopefully spending some time remembering will liven our spirits to see better days abroad ahead.

Busy tourists cram the pavement as the busy buses line each visitor row by row. From above, Caro Rose, artist captures an areal view with her camera as her aunt presents herself as a tour guide. This is an original view captured by Rose on her visit to her aunt's home in Puerto Rico, Spring Break 2016. Her aunt raved about visiting a famous tourist destination and beloved location by the Puerto Ricans, El Castillo San Felipe del Morro, also affectionately known as El Morro. Many Puerto Ricans take pride in its patriotic significance to the island. Rose's aunt was insistent that she visit the destinations as her father’s side of the family comes from Puerto Rico. So Rose tried her best to photograph the majestic beach landscape in an aerial view of the ocean meeting the rocks by the shore as the busy buses collected tourists to and from the famous landmark. As one walks up to El Morro they are immediately captivated by the wide view of el Morro ahead of them dividing the Caribbean and Atlantic oceans on its either sides. The colors are clearly distinguished by the shades of blue that border the coasts on a bright sunny day like the one that Rose visited with her lovely aunt.

The most challenging part of this painting was creating the best realistic rendition of the people walking to and from the buses; however, she enjoyed mixing the color pigments she used from Master's Touch Acrylic Paints to create and blend the best seascape theme she could. A perfectionist at heart she felt she could have done a better job by distinguishing the people in her work but there is always room for improvement. If you also enjoy a tropical view like this or you also have any stories of your own of visiting Puerto Rico do not hesitate to leave your comment in the box below.

This is my first rendition of Tourists at el Morro, painted in Marion County, Florida.
This image is captured by a professional camera that she borrowed in the spring break of 2016 in San Juan Puerto Rico. The materials I used are Master’s touch acrylic paints and white, acid-free, acrylic gesso primed canvas. The print materials will be announced. All will be packaged with love and care. The value of the print, a handwritten thank you note, and detail. Price: $200
