About Artist

Caro Rose, 26 years old, communications major, born in Tampa, Florida. She lived in Central Florida all of her life where she grew up taking art classes from middle school throughout college at Vanguard High Schoola and College of Central Florida. She learned some techniques that help her identify things in art such as the thirds rule, perspective and the beginning to color theory. In high school, she won a few awards that got her recognized in the Ocala FAFO art show.

During her time in college, Caro, decided to spend some time doing freelance art. Born and raised into a Hispanic household, she was taught from a young age to mind her education before getting a job as a way to encourage her to stay in school. As she found herself in a transition from her bachelor's to master's degree she saw that her time is very limited between signing up for applications, scholarships and moving. Moreover, she found herself in this transition during the Corona Virus in March 2020, but she still needed to find extra funds. This is when she decided to make her freelance art even more of a priority with her education.

Caro enjoys spending her time in nature. She is more so enamored with the ocean because of its serenity and natural lights and cool tones. Therefore, whenever she went on trips with her family to Puerto Rico or Cental Ameria she would take photographs of landscapes, seascapes and buildings to document her memories. She always knew that one day she would paint some of the scenes she saw.  She also feels that Claude Monet is her preferred artist because she enjoys the way he used colors and impressionism to gesture his subjects. She hopes to follow his influence as a way to translate what she sees in nature through her canvas prints.

Before using acrylics, Caro only really used one medium: pencil. In high school, she liked to use pencils to sketch her ideas on paper. However, in her time in college, she began to really enjoy using acrylic paints because she enjoys the smooth textures and its quick-drying abilities. She likes to mix her own colors and likes to stay away from using black paints because it weighs down the image.

Finally, Caro hopes that her prints will gain people's attention for their enjoyment. She desires to inspire homeowners to really buys her pieces for their loved ones and themselves to make their houses feel more home-y.
